New Zombies Map Announced for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War

Treyarch has revealed that the first new zombies map for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will arrive February 4th. Originally expected to launch with Season 2 of the game, the new map will arrive earlier than expected. The map will be called Firebase Z and will take place at a facility known as Outpost 25. The map will be completely free for everyone.

The new Dark Aether storyline continues as detailed in the official synopsis of the map:

With the destruction of the WWII-era “Projekt Endstation” site after investigating the otherworldly Dark Aether anomaly in Poland, Requiem now sets its focus on the latest Dark Aether outbreak site: Outpost 25, known by the code name “Firebase Z.”

With the upcoming celebration for Call of Duty Zombies’ 115 day (January 15th), many fans expected some info on the upcoming map. However, few could have predicted that the map would launch early. Fans have already been treated with a free access week which started today, plus the new Cranked mode.

Treyarch explained that more details about Black Ops Cold War‘s new Zombies map can be expected tomorrow. This will likely include info about new perks, the wonder weapon(s) and a trailer. So far all we’ve had is a few pictures, likely of Outpost 25, with a conversation between ‘M’ (probably Samantha Maxis) and ‘R’ (Richtofen?).

Expect loads of free content for the remainder of Season One.
