We are only a couple of months away from Windbound, and the developers have recently treated us to a short gameplay trailer and a look at the preorder bonuses.
Windbound is an upcoming survival game that incorporates elements of magic and a sense of home to bring us the story of Kara, a warrior separated from her tribe and desperate to be reunited with them. Our journey takes us across a vast ocean and enchanted islands as we search for our way home. Along the way, we will discover artefacts that will help us in unlocking the truth of Kara’s heritage.
The islands are alive with magic and enchantment telling the tales of their origin and revealing the role Kara unknowingly plays in it as each artifact that she unearths unlocks a new clue to her past.
Gameplay Trailer
In the gameplay trailer, we see some of the beautiful environments we will explore and the survival mechanics such as scavenging and fighting. We also get a glimpse of the magical elements included in the game and the creatures we will face.
The trailer paints a really interesting picture. Not only do we have the survival aspects, but also a rich narrative to play through as well. We scavenge, hunt, and upgrade our boat, but we also have to collect artefacts to help Kara discover the truth about her past.
Preorder Bonuses
Windbound is now available for preorder on PC and Xbox, and will be available for preorder on the Playstation Store and the Nintendo eShop soon. The preorder includes ancestral attire to dress Kara in, an ancestral oar, and an ancestral knife.
The Windbound gameplay trailer gave us a glimpse of some of the monsters we will battle as we fight for our survival.
Windbound will be released on the 28th August 2020 on PC (Steam and Epic Store), Playstation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
