This week the Nintendo Switch library grows with some old favorites, some new, and one that brings a favorite franchise to life. New Nintendo eShop Downloads for Week of 10/15: Residential Racing

Each week we get exciting potential additions to our Nintendo Switch libraries. While the Nintendo eShop leaves some things to be desired when it comes to navigation and discovery, we’re here to give you a rundown of the downloads to expect this week. As it turns out, there’s more to be excited about beyond a new way to play Mario Kart.

Unless otherwise stated, all discussed content is available as of today, October 15th.

MARIO KART LIVE: HOME CIRCUIT

The obvious standout to arrive on the Nintendo eShop this week is the innovative Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit, which brings the frenetic racing game to your actual living room in the form of physical kart figures that you control using the Nintendo Switch. Set up your own custom course in your home and use the power of augmented reality to race in eight different Grand Prix cups against Bowser Jr. and the Koopalings. The physical product of Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit is required to play the game. If you don’t want to shell out for the toys, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is always available for download.

RÖKI

Röki places you in the snow-boots of Tove, a girl adventuring through a magical forest. You’ll encounter and befriend monsters, solve riddles, and collect loot as you navigate the twists and turns of the setting of traditional Scandinavian folklore. A stunning art style pairs with the narrative, and don’t worry, there is more to see than snow. I’m pretty sure there’s a snow octopus in there somewhere! With non-violent gameplay and accessible controls, players of any sort can enjoy what Röki has to offer.
