New Details Released on Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection

New details on Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves has just been unveiled, including the official release date for the PS5 port. A release date has not yet been announced for the PC release, although it is confirmed to be slated for 2022, so hopefully there shouldn't be too long a wait.

New Details Released on Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection Cover

There’s been a lot of anticipation for the release of Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection. Now, some new details have emerged on the remastered bundle of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, set to be released on PS5 and PC. It has officially been confirmed that Legacy of Thieves will be released on January 28, 2022 – on the PS5, at least. As for the PC version, there’s a bit of a longer wait. However, it has been confirmed that the PC release will come out in 2022 also. Hopefully, those wanting to play the collection on the PC won’t have to wait too long after the PS5 release.

Along with the release date, information was also unveiled about the graphics settings available in Legacy of Thieves. Players will be able to select from 3 different graphics modes. With Fidelity Mode, players can enjoy the games in 4K resolution with a 30 fps frame rate. Performance Mode bumps up the frame rate to 60 fps. Finally, Performance+ Mode plays the games at 120 fps at a 1080p resolution, bringing the smoothest performance at a slightly reduced resolution (providing you have a compatible 120hz display). Since the graphics in A Thief’s End and The Lost Legacy on PS4 were stunning, it’s exciting to see how gorgeous the graphics will get with these new graphics modes on PC and PS5.

More information was released on the collection’s upgrades to the PS5. Load times are stated to be practically instantaneous in Legacy of Thieves on the PS5. Also, Spatial 3D Audio has been implemented to immerse the player deeper into the game with highly-realistic sound quality. The PS5’s DualSense wireless controller will also play a big part in the two remastered games, reacting to every movement such as driving in vehicles and landing punches.

The PS5 upgrades will help you become further immersed in A Thief's End and The Lost Legacy.

Additionally, if you have Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, or Uncharted: A Thief’s End & Uncharted: The Lost Legacy Digital Bundle, you can upgrade to Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Digital Version for only $10/€10. Unfortunately, if you are a PS4 game disc owner who bought the PS5 Digital Edition disc-free console or obtained A Thief’s End through PlayStation Plus, you will not be eligible for the discounted PS5 upgrade.

It should also be noted that multiplayer mode from A Thief’s End and The Lost Legacy will not be featured in the Legacy of Thieves Collection. This isn’t to discount the fact that it won’t ever be in the game, just not for now.

If you buy or upgrade to Legacy of Thieves on PS5 from the PlayStation Store, there’s a special bonus for you. You’ll receive a voucher code for one standard ticket to the upcoming Uncharted movie, which releases in theaters February 2022. The offers lasts until February 3, and is only available if you are a resident in Australia, New Zealand, UK, or US. The ticket code will be sent out February 9.

If you get Legacy of Thieves, you'll also get a voucher code for a ticket for the new Uncharted movie.

Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End was originally released in 2016 on PS4. It features treasure hunter Nathan Drake’s last big adventure, teaming up with older brother Sam to locate the lost treasure of the legendary pirate Henry Avery, where they discover the lost pirates’ paradise Libertalia. Uncharted: The Lost Legacy follows Chloe Frazer, one of Nathan’s allies and a big breakout character in the series who first appeared in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. In The Lost Legacy, Chloe partners up with former mercenary Nadine Ross, who was first introduced as an antagonist in A Thief’s End, as they track down the Tusk of Ganesh in India. The Lost Legacy was released in 2017 on PS4.

Since Uncharted has always been exclusive to PlayStation, it will be the first time in the series’ history that Uncharted is released on PC. This is a welcome idea for PC players who have wanted to play the massively-popular series but don’t own a PlayStation.

Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection is now available to pre-order for PS5. The collection will be released in both physical and digital format.
