Since Magic: The Gathering was released in 1993, over 20 million people around the globe have enjoyed the strategic card game. Keeping this in mind, it comes as no surprise that there is a lot riding on Magic: Legends. With the Beta arriving this Spring, Perfect World Entertainment are teasing the fans with what awaits them in the Multiverse.
In Magic: Legends, evil lurks in the shadows as an ancient force plans to unleash mayhem. It is up to you, a mighty Planeswalker, to forge your own path and save the Multiverse. Engage in real-time combat to control the chaos, form a travelling party with up to two other players, and collect spells and upgrades to overcome the odds and defeat your enemies.
This month, Perfect World Entertainment revealed two of the many classes that players will be able to choose from:
The Mind Mage is a calculated soul, using ranged attacks to best their enemies and keep a safe distance from the fight. This class has the ability to use telekinesis to launch projectiles, put an enemy to sleep, and even turn them against their own.
The Geomancer is an earth-based class, drawing their powers from the earth to launch their attacks. Lava and stone are theirs to command, enabling them to make devastating blows to the enemy. As well as strong attacks, Geomancers also possess a stone shield that can absorb attacks aimed at themselves and their allies.
Along with the class reveals, we also got a glimpse of two locations featured in Magic: Legends:
Shiv is a volcanic island that lies on the plane of Dominaria. This lava-filled island is home to Ghitu tribes, and creatures such as dragons, goblins, and ogres.
Benalia is a church-state city between rolling plains and dark swamps. Far from at peace, the Benalish people war with the Cabal zealots and their dark companions.
Magic: Legends is sure to draw in long-time fans and new players alike with what looks to be a promising MMORPG, full of fantasy, adventure, and even more of the extensive story to delve into.
The Beta will be available in Spring for PC players. Sign up for the Beta on the official website. Magic: Legends will also be available for Playstation 4 and Xbox One.
