New content announced for Overwatch

A new map, titled Eichenwalde, borrows from German tradition and offers unique possibilities for fans of the multiplayer first-person shooter game. Existing as an escort/assault type map, this new piece of content has no release date as of yet.

Overwatch

Blizzard revealed Overwatch's newest map today. Titled Eichenwalde, the architecture borrows from the city of Stuttgart, Germany, with a prominent castle offering unique gameplay approaches not found in the current set of maps for the game.

This new piece of content will be an escort and assault hybrid type. A preview video can be seen below:

Described as the site of one of the most famous battles during the Omnic Crisis, it was here that the leader of the Crusaders, together with a few of his best men, fought to the death with an advancing automatron army. Their efforts helped German reinforcements push back the offensive and ultimately win the fight.

There is no specific date set for the map, with Blizzard simply noting that it will be coming soon.
