Have you ever wanted to own your own arcade? Well now you can! On August 11th, Nosebleed Interactive is releasing their next game: Arcade Paradise.
On June 29th, PlayStation Blog uploaded a blog post from Nosebleed’s CEO, Andreas Firnigl, detailing the contents of their newest game. Arcade Paradise is a 90’s, retro arcade sim in which you can go from rags to riches building and managing your own arcade from the ground up. You play as Ashley, a 19-year-old college dropout who has been tasked by her dad to take care of the family laundromat. However, when he discovers unused arcade machines in the backroom, her imagination quickly runs awry. She realizes she could potentially make more cash from the arcade cabinets than the wash and dry service.
Arcade Paradise features 35 unique arcade cabinets that you can unlock gradually as you progress. Each arcade cabinet comes packed with its own missions, high scores, stories, and gameplay. Players will even be able to play and set high scores on each cabinet themselves.
On June 29th, Playstation posted The Grind Release Date Trailer on their YouTube page. The trailer features the core gameplay loop of Ashley’s daily grind. Played like mini games, the player must unclog toilets, do laundry, pick up litter, and more. All seemingly mundane tasks, however they help the player generate profit that can then be spent on the arcade. As a player you will need to balance both the laundromat and the arcade. You will also have to play the games in order to maximize their profitability.
Lastly, players will be able to enjoy a large catalogue of 90’s-inspired songs on the in-hose juke box. The soundtrack of the game was also inspired by the 90’s hits the developers enjoyed growing up.
Arcade Paradise is a new arcade sim coming to Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows, Xbox Series X and Series S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 on August 11th.
