Fans of the Devil Summoner series will be thrilled to know that something is headed their way, and will only have a few more days to wait before finding out what Atlus has in store. Persona Central reported that a mysterious Soul Hackers website was put up by Atlus, featuring a countdown timer and a geometric tree design that grows as time passes.
This kind of advertising for games is nothing new, and can be very effective if pulled off correctly. The dearth of information is filled with wild speculation, with fans weighing up what they think is the most likely and looking for any shred of information that will give them a clue.
It’s not clear yet whether this will be a remake of a previous Soul Hackers game or a completely new game, but Atlus has asked about a remake in surveys before. This does not at all mean that this is indeed a remake, since there were many other games mentioned in those surveys.
The last new entry into the series was in 2008, with Devil Summoner being remade for Nintendo’s 3DS in 2013. As for the new game, no further information is available at this time. In fact, there is the remote possibility that this isn’t even a game, it could be a new anime or movie. Regardless, we will have to wait until the 21st of February 2022 to find out.
