MultiVersus Season 1 and Morty Release Dates Revealed

MultiVersus' pre-Season 1 Battle Pass draws to a close at the start of next week, which had costumes and emotes for various characters in-game. In a few days, Season 1 will be launched, which has more of the same. Season 1's release date announcement also contains a release date for Morty, which will be August 23rd.

MultiVersus Season 1 and Morty Release Date Revealed

MultiVersus‘ open beta has been out for a few weeks now, and as such, the game’s seen two characters added to the roster thus far, The Iron Giant (from the 2000 film of the same name) and LeBron James (based on his Space Jam: A New Legacy appearance).

At the same time, when LeBron was announced, it was also revealed that Rick and Morty would be joining the MultiVersus roster too. The two of them will be separate characters, and the first of them, Morty, had his release date revealed last night.

You can view that tweet below.

So, Morty will join MultiVersus on August 23rd (about 11 days from now, as of the time of writing), and Season 1 will fully launch in three days, on August 15th. Morty will probably have a gameplay trailer sometime in the future, like LeBron, but that date hasn’t been disclosed.

Back to Season 1, though. Previously, Warner Bros. revealed the various cosmetics coming in Season 1, including a Robin-themed costume for LeBron James (based on a scene in Space Jam: A New Legacy), among other things. You can see that tweet below.

Ranked Matches will also be a reality this season, too. Though, it should be noted that in the first tweet, a follow-up noted that not everything is coming out on August 15th. Whether that means that Ranked Match and an actual Arcade Mode are among the August 15th update is unknown.

For the record, MultiVersus doesn’t have any plans to leave its Open Beta status and will rotate characters regularly, so free players will always be able to try someone new if they don’t own them. To play MultiVersus, you’ll need a WB Account (as the game utilizes cross-play servers).

MultiVersus is free to download on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
