Monolith Soft profits saw a big uptick over the past year according to their recent report. Last fiscal year saw the highest Monolith Soft profits of any recent year. Overall, the company saw an increase of 138.2 percent year over year. Overall, the studio raked in a total of 1.171 billion yen during the fiscal year that ended in March. During the previous fiscal year, Monolith Soft profits had totaled 491 million yen according to Nintendo Life.

Monolith Soft is probably best known for the Xenoblade Chronicles RPG adventure franchise. Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition launched in May of 2020. The series certainly helped drive last year’s high Monolith Soft profits, as did the pandemic. Furthermore, the company has supported the development of some major Nintendo titles. That includes The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, as well as Animal Crossing: New Horizons. It is thought that they may be helping with Breath of the Wild 2 as well. This speculation resulted from their posting of 40 job listings in April. Some of those referenced the Zelda series.
