Developer Mojang announced yesterday via a now deleted Tweet that Minecraft will be the first true cross-platform game between Sony's PlayStation 4 and Microsoft's Xbox One, ahead of their annual Minecon this year.
Only available for Minecraft Realms for now, which is the sever renting side of the game that allows users to host sessions on rented servers for a subscription fee, players will be able to invite friends from mobile devices as well. Previously the feature was only available for cross-play between Android, PC, Xbox Live, and iOS devices.
Realms supports up to 10 players at once for now, but could expand with news of the official announcement this week.
