Mega Man is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, and Capcom had an impressive live-stream filled with juicy announcements pertaining to the series: the biggest was that Mega Man 11 will be released on the Nintendo Switch in late 2018.
Mega Man 10 was the latest entry in the series back in 2010. Both Mega Man 9 and 10 used the traditional 8-bit graphics in honor of the NES games that put the series on the map, but Mega Man 11 will take on a more modern, hand-drawn aesthetic. The gameplay still looks like classic blue bomber we have come to love, and Capcom seems to have done a beautiful job with the game judging by first glance.
Little information has leaked about the game outside of a trailer that shows off a level and a boss. and a few extra screenshots.
There is still nearly a year until the final release, and Capcom has stated on Twitter that they will release more information in 2018.
On top of the Mega Man 11 announcement, both Mega Man Legacy Collection games will also be coming to the Switch in 2018, and all eight Mega Man X games will be released for PS4, PC, Xbox One, and the Switch although no release date has yet been given.
