A leaked Elden Ring trailer has set the gaming world into a frenzy as fans of the highly anticipated title finally got a better look at the game.
This trailer, although only over a minute long, seems to live up to fan expectations as it depicts a high fantasy world full of dragons and other mythological beasts. The main character, armed with a sword and shield, looks quite reminiscent of other FromSoftware protagonists as seen in franchises such as Dark Souls or Bloodborne. The footage also includes some gameplay that is close to what we’ve come to expect from the studio, while a narrator sets out the theme of the overall story:
“I can only imagine what drives you to seek the Elden Ring… I suppose you can’t be talked into turning back. Very well then!”

The leaked Elden Ring trailer ends with the words, “An all new fantasy action RPG franchise from the creators of Dark Souls, Bloodborne and Sekiro.”
According to rumors, the development of the game has been going through major setbacks in the last few months. Many of the developers working on the game have to switch to working remotely, which in turn lead to internal delays, with reports from within FromSoftware pointing out that it most likely will not release within this year.
Following the leak of this trailer, there has been a lot of speculation in regards to when publishers Bandai Namco will release more information about Elden Ring, with reports stating that it should occur sometime soon. Some fans theorized that this was going to happen at an upcoming Microsoft Conference, although Xbox marketing executive Aaron Greenberg was quick to shut down those rumors.
Just to set expectations: this is not happening. There are always things we have in the works, but nothing coming soon that would feature game announcements or world premieres like this. https://t.co/nO868SCbpZ

Elden Ring was officially unveiled during E3 2019 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The eye-catcher of the announcement was the collaboration between popular high fantasy book series Game of Thrones writer George R. R. Martin and Hidetaka Miyazaki, the brain behind some of the most notorious FromSoftware franchises like Dark Souls, Sekiro and Bloodborne.
After its official unveiling, however, it hasn’t really been heard of much, with gamers waiting patiently until Bandai Namco decides to go public with its plans for this title.
