A new achievements leak suggests that the classic N64 adventure, GoldenEye 007, may be coming to Xbox in some form after all. The leaked achievements list is viewable over on TrueAchievements.com. Within the list are 55 different achievements spanning both single and multiplayer modes. The achievements add up to a total of 1,000 gamer points in all.
Regardless, the James Bond franchise is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. They have said that new announcements are coming this year. However, we do know that a new game is in the works at IO Interactive. You may know them as the folks behind Hitman. It aims to place the secret agent into a brand new adventure. Beyond being the 60th anniversary, 2022 is also a big time of transition for the franchise. Actor Daniel Craig recently stepped down from his role as the iconic super spy.

While the new GoldenEye achievement leak is exciting, it isn’t the first time the game has tried to return. GoldenEye 007 first launched on the Nintendo 64 way back in 1997. It later got reimagined in a remake on the Wii and DS consoles.
The new achievements leak for GoldenEye is not the first time that the game was thought to be coming to the Xbox. There was also a supposed Xbox Live Arcade version being developed by Rare that never saw the light of day. Xbox Boss, Phil Spencer, was questioned about footage of the rumored release at the time. However, rather than confirm or deny anything, he simply stated that
“GoldenEye has always been a rights issue, not a ‘getting code to run’ issue”

If GoldenEye 007 does make it to Xbox, it may show up on other platforms later as well.
