League of Legends Patch 12.11: What Riot Has Confirmed So Far

League of Legends Update 12.11 is on the horizon, with summer skins, champion balances, and a new champion, Bel’Veth, heading to the game. Riot Games has confirmed the patch will be going live on June 8th, 2022. 

With patch 12.11 of League of Legends, Riot is further letting their love for pop music show. Riot used Twitter to announce a new skin lineup, titled Ocean Song. Annually, Riot has issued summer skins, with ‘Pool Party’ collections released each year. Champions including Caitlyn, Lulu, Orianna, Sett and Syndra already have summer-themed skins, with more joining the lineup this summer. 

With not only additional skins confirmed, but Riot Games have also revealed their next champion, Bel’Veth, their first new champion since Renata Glasc debuted on February 17 2022. Glasc has dominated the bottom lane since her launch, berserking her enemies into killing each other for her. Bel’Veth will be playable on June 8, 2022.

RIOT CONFIRMED THAT BEL’VETH WILL BE PLAYABLE IN LEAGUE OF LEGENDS ON JUNE 8 WITH THE LAUNCH OF PATCH 12.11

Riot confirmed who will be getting new skins next. Ashe, Nidalee, Seraphine, Yone and Zeri were all confirmed to have Ocean Song skins on the way. K/DA songstress Seraphine receives the VIP treatment with her first prestige skin this time around. Previously, Senna got the prestige treatment, with her second prestige skin after her Louis Vuitton collaboration True Damage attire. 

Ocean Song has been compared to Riot Games’ previous musical assemblies such as K/DA and Pentakill. However this time around, heavy metal and hip-hop traded for cute-as-can-be, tropical summer fever. However, no skins for fan-demanded champions such as Rell, Fiddlesticks or Zac, have been confirmed for patch 12.11.

Trundle, Ryze and Zilean have all surpassed 700 days without a new skin. Udyr has gone over 900 days without any new cosmetics. Fiddlesticks has accumulated over a whopping 1200 days without any new skins. The lack of equity with skin distribution has caused upset with LOL‘s player base, however. Since her launch in January 2022, Zeri has received 2 purchasable skins.

While the biggest impact on LOL patch 12.11 will be the arrival of Bel’Veth, The Empress of the Void, fans can expect an event pass. With Riot confirming a prestige skin for Seraphine, this confirms that Mythic Essence farming quests will live with patch 12.11. 

Riot Games started the year off with Chinese New Year-themed Porcelain skins, which itself came along with an event pass. Following this, skins themed around Valentine’s Day, EDG world champions and a bumblebee charity skin series that went on to raise $5.4 million in total for humanitarian efforts in Eastern Europe.
