Classic strategy titles Langrisser I & II will be released in an HD remastered collection in early 2020, NIS America has announced. Both games have been fully recreated for modern platforms with new graphics, music, and gameplay adjustments.
This remastered collection pairs the original Langrisser with its sequel Langrisser II, which has never before been localized outside Japan. This release includes a variety of enhancements. Changes include brand new HD visuals, redone character designs, remastered music with modern instrumentation, and new English localization, as well as Japanese voice acting. This is on top of numerous gameplay adjustments to refine the experience for modern players. Watch the announcement trailer below to see these features in action.
The original Langrisser first released in 1991 in Japan for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive and PC Engine. Later that year, it released in North America and Europe as Warsong. This was among the first Japanese tactical RPGs to release outside Japan, introducing the West to the genre long before the more popular Fire Emblem series began releasing internationally.
Langrisser I & II will release for Nintendo Switch, PS4, and PC in early 2020.
