Yesterday at Square Enix’s TGS event, they announced a new Kingdom Hearts-themed chess set. The chess set is based on the set seen in Kingdom Hearts III – the set seen played by a young Eraqus and Xehanort. The set seems to be of high quality, with the pieces being made of metal instead of plastic. While it is currently in development, no concrete release date has been given. No price has been given either, but both price and release will presumably be announced at a later date.

This set is exciting, to say the least. After seeing it in Kingdom Hearts III, many fans have probably wanted to see Square produce a real version of it. If you were one of those people, I hope it meets your expectations. I imagine this set will be sold at a premium, but as long as it’s as high quality as it seems, it may be worth it. We will just have to see how much it sells for, and the quality of the products to see if this set will be a success or a flop.

How excited are you for this set? Let us know in the comments below!
