Bully released in 2006 and quickly became a cult classic among Rockstar fans. Despite popularity for the original, Rockstar Games has kept their lips firmly sealed on any news of a possible sequel. Naturally, fans can quickly become excited by the mere whiff of news of a possible sequel and that’s exactly what has happened.
GTA 5 Online just released a content update, adding a casino to Los Santos. Within the casino is a piece of decorative art with the title “Canis Canem Edit”, which for those of you who aren’t in the know, is Latin for “dog eat dog”, which was the European title for the game. The picture itself is split into four panels, each containing a part of the Bullworth crest; the fist, snake, skull & rat.
Now this may simply be an easter egg for Bully fans, but it shows that Rockstar hasn’t forgotten about the IP. Hints of a sequel have been appearing over the last couple of years, from accidentally leaked game pages to apparent artwork for the game. Time will tell, but I remain hopeful that we will return to Bullworth one day. With a new console generation approaching & Rockstar’s latest release, Red Dead Redemption 2, riding off into the sunset, perhaps we don’t have much longer to wait.
