Iron Man VR has Gone Gold

That's right, Iron Man VR has gone gold. Now PSVR owners are on the final stretch to play as the iconic hero on July 3. After getting hit with delays and the studio having to work from home due to COVID-19, the developers managed to get into the final stage to polish the game to be ready for launch.

After delays and a pandemic, Camouflaj’s Iron Man VR has officially gone gold, which was confirmed on the company’s Twitter account.

Speaking with IGN, Game Director Ryan Payton spoke about the development process over the last few months since working from home initiated due to COVID-19.

“We took [the pandemic] very seriously and we worked really quickly to make sure that our team was safe,” Payton told IGN. “Thankfully our team has been healthy and safe throughout this whole pandemic. And the other thing we’re thankful for is that we were in close contact with both Sony and Marvel. We told them that we’re going make sure that the team safety is paramount and the highest priority, and we don’t know what’s going to happen to the game’s production. They said that’s fine. Let’s take care of the team, we’ll make things work,”

Due to the demo that released last week (May 21), player feedback has helped improve the game. While the final stages are normally meant to polish and clean up bugs, Payton told IGN about how the overall quality is getting worked on while in quarantine. One change that will come to the final product is the options menu, which will feature more settings for players to adjust the game to their liking and comfort.

Marvel’s Iron Man VR – Demo Trailer | PS VR

Iron Man VR was initially announced last year during Sony Interactive Entertainment’s State of Play presentation. The PSVR exclusive will have players fly around and fight just like the iconic Marvel hero. On the PlayStation store it gives a synopsis of the story:

“Tony Stark has retired from making weapons and instead creates technology used to battle evil as Iron Man,” reads the story description. “After several years as a world-famous Super Hero, Tony is attacked by the mysterious Ghost, a hacker and anti-corporate activist who repurposes old Stark Industries weapons. In her efforts to topple his empire, Ghost attacks Stark’s corporate locations around the world, leading to ever-escalating stakes and a final showdown.”

Now that Iron Man VR is gold, it is only a little while longer before its July 3 release date.
