Horizon Forbidden West Gameplay Coming This Thursday

After nearly a year, this Thursday, PlayStation will showcase the first gameplay sequence of Horizon Forbidden West. Guerilla continues to work on the series after the hugely successful Horizon Zero Dawn. As things stand, Forbidden West is still due out later this year.

Horizon Forbidden West Gameplay Coming This Thursday coverPlayStation and Guerrilla Games will reveal fourteen minutes of Horizon Forbidden West this Thursday (May 27th) in a special State of Play at 10 pm UK time (11 pm CEST/2 pm PST).

The live stream will be the first look at Horizon Forbidden West gameplay.

Speaking to the PlayStation Blog, game director Mathijs de Jonge said:

During this State of Play, we will debut the Horizon Forbidden West gameplay reveal! In this 20-minute exclusive segment, you’ll be seeing about 14 minutes of brand new in-game action featuring our heroic protagonist Aloy, all captured directly on PlayStation 5. This reveal has been a true team effort and we’re very excited to show you what we have in store

It will be the first time we see Aloy in action since the reveal of Forbidden West during the PlayStation 5 reveal event in June 2020.

The teaser trailer did not give too much away, aside from the return of Aloy as the main protagonist, alongside teasing new gameplay mechanics such as swimming.

Horizon Zero Dawn, the first entry in the series, was released in 2017. Forbidden West is currently slated to hit shelves later this year.

What are you hoping to see from Horizon Forbidden West on Thursday? Are you excited for this game, or does this State of Play need to make an impression on you? Let us know in the comments below.
