Hitman 3 to Be Renamed as World of Assassination

In an effort to rebrand the series and streamline content into one concise package, Hitman 3 is being rebranded as Hitman: World of Assassination. All content from all three recent Hitman games will soon be available in one single and simple package. And to top it off, all current owners of Hitman 3 will get the upgrade for free.

Hitman 3 to be Renamed as World of Assassination“World of Assassination” has been Hitman’s tagline and mantra since its episodic reboot in 2016, Hitman. Now, however, developers IO Interactive are taking this mantra one step further by not only rebranding 2021’s Hitman 3, but the entire new trilogy as Hitman: World of Assassination.

On January 26, the update will go live. Hitman 3 will act as the base platform for the reimagined title, with both Hitman 1 and 2 being removed from storefronts on the very same day. Fans of maps such as Sapienza and Mumbai need not fear, as all original content from these two games will be available to download again through World of Assassination’s new Access Passes.

DLC, such as Hitman 3’s new maps and Hitman 2’s Expansion Pass can be purchased through a new World of Assassination Deluxe Pack for $30. Those who have already purchased some of this content will be able to purchase the rest individually for a reduced cost.

Gamers who already own a copy of Hitman 3 will get the World of Assassination update for free, granting them instant access to maps from Hitman 1 and 2 for no additional cost (if they haven’t purchased them already). Whereas for those who purchase after January 26, Hitman: World of Assassination will cost $70 for the whole package.

The change has been made to “drastically simplify the purchase experience for new players” according to developers IO Interactive. Thus helping to eliminate “confusion over which edition to buy, what content you own, how to redeem Legacy packs or import locations, etc”.

The developers end by saying they are “absolutely certain that these changes will have a hugely positive effect on existing players and new players alike”. As well as the fact that these changes have also been made with the upcoming and hugely anticipated Freelancer mode update in mind, which should go live early this year.
