Sega has just announced Hello Kitty as the next paid DLC character for Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania. This is the second character to be announced as a paid add-on. Last week’s Morgana from Persona 5 was the first. However, unlike that character, Hello Kitty will be available for purchase at launch. Both DLC characters will be priced at $4.99.
The game is set to release October 5th on Steam, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, and PlayStation 4 & 5.

Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania boasts four previously announced free guest characters: Sonic & Tails, Jet Set Radio‘s Beat, and Kazuma Kiryu from Yakuza. The paid Hello Kitty DLC will release on launch day. Meanwhile, the Morgana DLC will not arrive until a month later. Beyond these two characters, Sega has previously announced four other DLC packs that will release alongside the game:
- The SEGA Legends Pack (play as a Dreamcast, Game Gear, or Saturn).
- The Classic Character Pack (classic versions of the six monkey protagonists)
- Classic Soundtrack (the original Super Monkey Ball soundtrack)
- The Customization Pack (pink cosmetic items for dressing up the six monkey protagonists)
There is also a fifth previously announced DLC pack (the Bonus Cosmetic Pack). It is included free with pre-orders of Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania. Bundled inside it are 10 cosmetic-only items for character customization. With the game’s launch only weeks away now, there are probably only a few more character announcements left. However, they could also announce more new ones after the game has launched in early October.
