Halo Infinite Update Is Coming This Week

343 Industries' Brian Jarrard went to Reddit to confirm the next update for Xbox's flagship title - Halo Infinite - will arrive sometime this week. This will be the second instalment of the monthly series 'Inside Infinite', which will lead up the game's release in Fall 2021.

Halo Infinite Update Is Coming This Week

343’s community director, Brian Jarrard, has confirmed via Reddit that a developer update for Halo Infinite is imminent. Responding to a user worried about “the lack of info”, Jarrard reassured them there is no cause for concern. Their last update was on December 8th 2020, after all.

More notably, he states, “. . .we’re committed to at least monthly high-level updates and the next ‘Inside Infinite’ is coming out this week!” He also confirmed the focus of this week’s blog post is on the sandbox team. This presumably relates to the campaign’s more open-ended structure, which is a big departure for the long-serving series.

Despite that, he was quick to temper expectations, stating there will be no “world premier big screenshots” or “date announce”. Instead, the point of this update is to shed some light on the developers working on the game.

He explained their strategy at the end of his post:

Our goal is to offer our community more context and insights into our team and the game we’re making while we’re all awaiting the larger beats and full marketing machine later this year.

This month’s ‘Inside Infinite’ is unlikely to entice many new players. However, expect to see a gradual incline of more substantial and exciting information as the year progresses. The initial gameplay demo showed off in July of last year did more harm than good, so 343 are using this platform to reforge a strong relationship with the Halo community.
