The well-anticipated smash indie hit from Supergiant Games, Hades, is finally available on Xbox and PlayStation stores for their respective consoles. The game went live on August 13th and is free to download for Xbox GamePass subscribers. For PS5 and Xbox Series owners, a next-gen version is also available. The title made its mark on the game industry last year, seemingly coming out of nowhere to overtake AAA games like Final Fantasy 7 Remake and Ghost of Tsushima. Second to only The Last of Us Part 2, Hades accumulated over 61 Game of the Year awards from Gaming outlets.
Hades is a Rogue-like Action game that follows Zagreus, prince of Hell and son to Hades. But the twist is, Zagreus is tired of the drab underworld and his annoyance of a father. So like any rebellious child, Zagreus runs away from home, or at least he tries to. In Greek Mythology, Hell is an inescapable prison even for the son of Hades. So you’ll slash, smash and stab your way towards that sweet earthly air over and over again, familiarizing yourself with the game’s systems and structure as you die and sink back to the starting point, just to do it all over again.
You’ll also be accumulating resources that will allow you to purchase upgrades for Zagreus to help in your escape attempts, like the variety of weapons with each their own playstyle.
