Gwent: The Witcher Card Game Arena Mode Is Out Today
The fresh form of competition in Gwent is designed with the purpose of playing more unbridled matches with the use of some crazy decks. The origins of such idea come from the first months of closed beta of Gwent. The initial version of gameplay was not properly balanced yet and players were able to perform unbelievable combos and generate huge amounts of points in the single rounds.CD Project RED patched those things with the intention to adjust the gameplay for online competition but the fans were begging for bringing it back.
The new Arena Mode is something that seems to be a proper solution allowing the players to unleash true creativity in deck building. Unlike the other game modes, Arena lets you pick cards for the deck from all factions available without any restrictions for the card type. In order to play Arena Mode, we need to sign a contract with Gaunter O’Dimm, the memorable villain featured in the first story expansion for The Witcher 3, Hearts of Stone.
Master Mirror demands the payment in Mirror Shards, a new in-game item. Those might be gained by spending some gold earned in the matches or via microtransactions. To celebrate the launch, CD Project RED announced that anyone who will log in Gwent before March 7th will receive three Mirror Shards.
