Guild Wars 2 Path of Fire Announced
Ever feel like your immersive MMO is missing anything? Well, the creators of Guild Wars 2 hopes to fix that for you. Guild Wars 2 has been out since 2012 and after releasing the well-received expansion Hear of Thorns in 2015 a new expansion has been announced which aims to fix a lot of the main issues current and new players have with the game.

The main thing to come into the game from this expansion is that of mounts which are a key aspect of many MMO's now. The mounts will breathe and act just like a real character and you will be able to use them to solve puzzles in new and unique ways. Another key aspect is the ability to progress the mounts using the new max level progression system being added into the game. The quick movement of the mounts will help to explore the 5 massive zones being added into the game.

Another aspect being added into the game is Elite Specializations which allow players to evolve and customize their characters after hitting the max level of 80 in new and unique ways. New play styles, traits, and weapons will be coming with this system. For anyone missing a level 80 character, the purchase of the expansion will give you a level token for a character to bring it to 80 with valid gear and gold to begin the journey.

An open-world preview weekend will run August 11-13, available to anyone with a Guild Wars 2 account in good standing. Players will be able to experience part of the opening story of Path of Fire, and explore the Crystal Oasis map astride the raptor mount.

Guild Wars 2: Path of Fire will launch on Sept. 22, and pre-orders for the expansion are live now. It is available on its own for $29.99 or bundled with Heart of Thorns for $49.99. The pricing is notable, as the first expansion caused a stir among some players by launching at $49.99, the same as the price of the core game.
