Recently, Rockstar Games announced that both GTA Online and Red Dead Online will be receiving major updates in 2020.

This announcement was made on the official Rockstar Games website. Red Dead Online’s update will come in the form of a new Frontier Pursuit. As Rockstar Games explains, this will “introduce players to the secrets of naturalism as part of an all-new Role”. The update will also include a new Outlaw Pass and a number of fixes and features requested by the online community. These updates will arrive on the 28th of July 2020.

Even less information was given about the GTA Online update. Rockstar announced that the update will bring “diverse new content” and “Heists in an entirely new location”. This is exciting information, and the vagueness leaves lots of room for speculation as to what Rockstar Games has up their sleeves.

Rockstar Games also announced a stern stance against online modders, cheaters and hackers who threaten to ruin the multiplayer experience for others. Rockstar Games claims they have taken action against hundreds of thousands of players in both GTA Online and Red Dead Online.

Rockstar Games’ continued support of GTA Online is not unexpected, as they have announced that both Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online will also be coming to the PlayStation 5. Players who subscribe to PlayStation Plus and use GTA Online will also be rewarded $1,000,000 each month until GTA Online launches on PS5.

Although Rockstar Games have stated that the next-gen version of Grand Theft Auto V will feature “visual upgrades and performance enhancements to take full advantage of the latest hardware”, not all gamers have been receptive to this news. This can be seen by the staggering amount of dislikes the trailer video has received on YouTube.

Perhaps some gamers are hungry for something new from Rockstar Games. However, for those who are still having a blast in GTA Online and Red Dead Online, Rockstar Games’ updates ensure that there is still plenty of content to enjoy.
