God of War Ragnarok Leaks Surface on Twitter Ahead of Game’s Release

God of War Ragnarok leaks have been posted to Twitter ahead of the game's release. It seems the photos were shared from a linked PlayStation account and may or may not have been leaked intentionally. As of right now, the photos have been removed, but can still be found on a Reddit thread.

God of War Ragnarok Leaks Surface on Twitter Ahead of Game's Release

As reported by VGC, large amounts of God of War Ragnarok leaks have surfaced on Twitter in the form of screenshots from the game.

It seems that this Twitter account may be linked to the PlayStation account of someone working in media. Recently, God of War Ragnarok has been in the hands of select media outlets and reporters for the sake of preview and review.

At this time, a variety of previews are available, but only are allowed to discuss gameplay up until a certain point. Details about the rest of the game must wait for full reviews. At this point, that information remains under embargo.

This is not a new pattern either. It is common for notable releases to be spoiled with leaks prior to their release. Such games in recent years include The Last of Us Part II, GTA 6, and most recently, A Plague Tale: Requiem–where copies accidentally shipped out early to some players.

Director of God of War Ragnarok, Cory Barlog, seemingly responded on Twitter early this morning with a simple meme:

God of War Ragnarok is the sequel to the acclaimed 2018 release, God of War. The story will continue to follow the relationship of Atreus and Kratos two years after the events of the first game. The pair have been training for Ragnarok and the game is sure to be an epic close to the Norse chapter of the franchise.

God of War (2018) was known for it’s stunning visuals and rich cinematics, and according to recent previews, fans can expect the same from God of War Ragnarok. Sony even confirmed that the game can target 120FPS while hooked up to an HDMI 2.1 display.

As of right now, the leaked photos have been taken down from Twitter. Those who were fast enough to grab them have seemingly posted them all in a Reddit thread.

It seems fans of the franchise should tread lightly online over the next few weeks if they don’t want to see any spoilers.

God of War Ragnarok will release on November 9th on PS4 and PS5.
