Orwell’s famous allegorical novella, Animal Farm, will be adapted into a narrative video game, as revealed by the newly released teaser trailer.
In a game that will likely not have a perfect nor happy ending, you must decide which animals you will be siding with while society collapses. Also, remaining true to Orwell’s satirical politics, you will get to decide which animals are on top of the food chain while perpetuating the idea that all animals are indeed somehow equal in order to prevent a new uprising.
The game will also have some strategic elements such as farm defense and resource administration in order to keep your animal society happy and contempt.
The adaptation is written by Emily Short, known for having written Galatea, Metamorphoses, City of Secrets, among others. Additionally, the game will be narrated by actor Abubakar Salim, who participated in Raised by Wolves, Informer, and, most notably, Assassin’s Creed: Origins as Bayek and World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth, as Rokhan.
Orwell’s Animal Farm is currently available to be wishlisted on Steam, and the estimated launch date is set for Autumn 2020.
