Gears of War movie officially announced
Gears of War, the series well known for its 'bro-dude' action heroes and guns with chainsaws, is getting a film adaptation with Universal Pictures, this must be a dream, right? It may not all be good news for gamers, though.

Throughout the entire event, a lot of amazing activities took place, including early-access giveaways of Gears of War 4 titles, a competition between two high-ranked eSports teams OpTic and Infinity, and plenty of unique panels of celebrities and fans.

A notable announcement was the confirmation of a Gears of War movie in the works, which got many fans stoked, but there were a few comments from Rod Ferguson, head of The Coalition, the developer of Gears of War:

“I think you have to let the movies be the movies,” he had said during his interview with Variety Magazine, "They’re two different mediums, and two different audiences in some cases, and I think some video game movies in the past have failed because they tried to make a movie for gamers. If you have this great IP with a deep backstory and lots of lore that you can make interesting stories out of it’s great, but if you just go after the gaming audience then it isn’t going to be a successful movie."

He did clarify himself, and continued with "That’s one of the great things about working with Universal. We’re finding that line where we can say it has enough lore and canon that it feels genuine to the game while at the same time going beyond that and asking ‘OK what makes a great movie?"

Even if you have your reservations about this choice, you can still enjoy Gears of War 4 when it launches October 11.
