With that in mind, Hollywood is planning its triumphant return with comic and video-game adaptations leading the charge. One of those movies will be the highly anticipated Metal Gear Solid who just cast Oscar Isaac as the icon that is its main protagonist – Solid Snake. The movie will be directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts (Kong: Skull Island) and written by Derek Connolly (Star Wars: Episode XI – The Rise of Skywalker, Detective Pikachu). The Nintendo Switch received a system update recently, bringing with it some small yet significant quality of life improvements. Users now have the option of either plugging the console directly into their computer via USB or using QR codes to transfer files to a smart device. Along with that, Nintendo Switch Online can now be accessed from the home screen and users can shuffle the order of their downloads. There are a couple of more useful little things in there which you can check in our original news coverage.
Cyberpunk 2077 will have a robust photo mode
Cyberpunk 2077 fever is at an all-time high. Some reviews are already out and it seems that the game will be what everyone expected it to be. One last thing CDPR had to showcase before the release was the fact that the game has a robust photo mode for the players to toy around with. There’s really plenty of options to create a perfect image with all sorts of filters, poses, facial expressions, weapon effects and much more. The mode seems to be so robust that CDPR released a full 2 min trailer in order to showcase it in its full glory. So be sure to check it out in our original news coverage.
Warner Bros. 2021. movie lineup will release in theaters and HBO Max
Movies owe most of their financial success to their theatrical runs. Since COVID-19 has put a stop to movie-going as we all know it, studios are looking for new ways to monetize their projects. Besides the failure of Tenent, the seriousness of the situation is made clear with Warner Bros. announcing that their entire 2021 movie lineup will, along with a worldwide theatrical release, have one-month streaming run exclusively on HBO Max. This hybrid release slate includes some gigantic productions like Dune, Matrix 4, The Suicide Squad, Godzilla vs. Kong, and Mortal Kombat. It remains to be seen how financially successful the model will be and if it’s going to be the golden standard going forward.
Monster-hunting goes open-world with the release of Dauntless Reforged
Dauntless is a great, free alternative to the more popular Monster Hunter. Being free, the game had some limitations in its structure, the biggest of which was the instanced mission structure. Well, this changed with the release of Dauntless Reforged update which added 18 different open-world islands where players can freely explore, hunt, and gather resources. The update also brings a new progression system, new behemoths to hunt, and much more. For the full list, head on over to the game’s official site where you can also download the game and check it out for yourself.
