Gamescom 2017 will officially kick off on August 22nd in Cologne, Germany. The European gaming convention is reputed to be the world's largest event for computer and video games every year. Last year's event drew around 345,000 visitors to the convention which is a much higher number than what E3 normally achieves. To put it in context, E3 2017 only managed about 68,400 visitors. So expect, Gamescom to continue the trend of holding the biggest gaming event once again. In addition, German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, will open the event in what may be the first time that a political leader is present at a gaming convention. This only highlights the big impact that the gaming industry has on the economy.
As for the exhibitors already confirmed to be present at the show, these include companies such as Microsoft, Bandai Namco, CD Projekt, Konami, Ubisoft, Square Enix and others. Sony and Nintendo have yet to confirm their presence. The former will likely either hold a conference at Gamescom or at the Paris Games Week like previous years. Nintendo might instead plan to hold a new Nintendo Direct around that time as well. We will bring newer info on Gamescom's developments as soon as it's available.

Sure, Kingdom Hearts 3. But apparently they are doing something for FFXV as well. And there’s Dragon Quest as well.

I’m just wondering what Square Enix will show. They’ve got several important games cooking, and hardly showed anything at E3.

Yes. Very strange. I’m sure both FF 7 remake and KH 3 have something new to show by now. I’m sure we will get an update on these on gamescom or psx.

Well I’m not sure if we’ll see anything for FF7 Remake anytime soon, but I know we’re already gonna be seeing KH3 at D23 in July, so I think it’s more likely to see something for KH3 than FF7 Remake
