Upcoming RPG Forspoken has been delayed until January 24th, 2023. This is the second time that Forspoken has been delayed and could mean troubling times for the ambitious game. Originally the game was due out on May 24th, 2022 and then on October 11, 2022. This is Luminous Productions second game and the first game developed under the new company. The first game developed was Final Fantasy XV which also went through release date shuffles and faced mixed reviews on release. Forspoken and Final Fantasy XV have been developed using the Luminous Engine. This engine was praised for its realistic 3D modeling of the human eye and its real time rendering of graphics. At the beginning Forspoken was just a technology demo titled Project Athia.

The press release announcing the delay cites that “elements are now complete, and development is in its final polishing phase”. No reason for the delay was given aside from discussions with key partners. Fans have been thanked for continued support and patience and more information will be given further along this Summer. It wasn’t stated if this would be at a specific press conference for Forspoken or if it may be at the next rumored State of Play. Forspoken is currently slated to be released exclusively on PlayStation 5 and PC
