For the first time in three generations, Sony has distanced itself from the all-black aesthetic we know and love. During Sony’s reveal event in June, the company showed us a more futuristic, white console to go alongside their new DualSense controller. However, these aren’t the only things to have undergone a design change. Sony has given us a look at what to expect physical games to look like with some PS5 box art. The game in question is the upcoming Spiderman: Miles Morales developed by Insomniac Games.

As you can see from the tweet, they’ve changed very little. The only thing different is that the regular blue trim from the previous generation has been changed to a vibrant white. I’m a big believer in “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”, so welcome the minor modifications. It will be interesting to see how the strip looks with a more garish design, or if it changes the way developers think about PS5 box art in the future. Whether you like it or not, I think we can all agree that PlayStation has come a long way from the days of the questionable box art found on old PS1 cases.
Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be available on PS5 this holiday season.
