A Better look at the Heroes and Villains
With a whole new group of heroes comes a whole new selection of powers. The trailer gave the audience a great new taste and look at the capabilities of its leading characters. Angelina Jolie’s Thena can be seen manifesting weapons and we get quite a few shots of Richard Madden firing off some cosmic energy from his eyes as Ikaris. We’re also given a quick glimpse of Makkari running at super-speed.
However, with heroes comes enemies and villains. The trailer gave us our biggest look yet at who the team may be up against. At around the first minute mark of the trailer, Kit Harrington’s Dan Whitman asks Seri (Gemma Chan) a question many fans have also been asking: “Why didn’t you guys help fight Thanos?”
Seri replies by saying, “we were instructed not to interfere in any human conflicts unless Deviants were involved.” This line does help clear up their lack of help in previous battles. However, it also hints at something larger. When Dan Whitman then asks who instructed them to not interfere, the trailer then cuts to what many comics fans would know as being a Celestial. And in the comics, the Celestials are the creators of both the Eternals as well as the Deviants.
Fantastic Visuals and a star studded cast on full display
The film not only seems to be jam packed with characters but also some amazing action. In just the small three minute trailer, we see The Eternals in a variety of locations. What’s more, the action and scale of the film seems to be of epic proportions. Erupting volcanos. Burning ancient civilisations. Lushes greenery and even the galactic cosmic setting we’ve come to expect. This film seems to have it all.
Additionally, the trailer is not the only news to drop about the upcoming film. Lots more information regarding the characters and lore has been announced. Character profiles and images just some of the ways Marvel are trying to hype up the film. All of which show off the impressive cast Marvel have put together.
Some of the stars of the film include Richard Madden, Kumail Nanjiani, Lia McHugh, Brian Tyree Henry, Lauren Ridloff, Barry Keoghan, Don Lee, Salma Hayek, Kit Harrington and Angelina Jolie. The film also has a fantastic director helming the project, with recent Oscar winning director Chloe Zhao having been asked with bringing these heroes to the big screen.
Eternals is scheduled to be released in theatres on Nov. 5. What do you think are some of the best moments from this final trailer for Eternals? Let us know in the comments below.
