The Final Fantasy 7 PS5 news comes from the latest PlayStation State of Play, announcing a decent variety of new features for Final Fantasy 7 Remake on the PlayStation 5 console, called Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade. Then there’s the DLC, or “episode”, featuring shuriken-wielding ninja and thief from the original game, Yuffie Kisaragi.
The free enhancements for the game include the usual variety we’ve come to expect from next-gen upgrades lately: modes that each prioritise graphics and frame rates, normal (classic) difficulty, optimised loading times, and improvements for textures, lighting and background environments. There’s even a photo mode thrown in and you can carry over your save data. Neat. As said, all of these upgrades are totally free for those who already own the PS4 game. For those that own it on disc, you’ll need to use a PS5 console with a disc drive.
Yuffie’s Final Fantasy 7 debut comes in a paid episode featuring an infiltration mission where you’ll play as her aiming to steal a powerful material from the Shinra corporation, joined by partner, Sonon Kusakabe. This episode can only be bought after upgrading to Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade on the PS5, however. So if you’ve only still got a PS4 and you’re yet to snag your own PlayStation 5, you’re sadly out of luck.
What do you think of this plethora of Final Fantasy 7 PS5 news? Will you be getting Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade and its Yuffie episode? Final Fantasy VII Intergrade will be out on the 10th of June 2021 on PlayStation 5.
