The popular and controversial platformer Fez had its final patch for PC released via Steam over the weekend by programmer Renaud Bedard. Bedard originally announced the update over a year ago on his personal blog.

Known as Fez 1.12, the patch corrects over 120 bugs that have been discovered in the past year. Other aims include improving music streaming, consolidating a codebase for all PC and Mac versions of the game, and cutting dependencies on the platform framework used on Windows.

Bedard also revealed that the update was released in secret because he had little intention of working on the game post-launch. He had been working on this patch for roughly nine years with kids and a full-time job.

The man worked alongside Phil Fish, who left the game industry after selling the rights to the game. Little is known of Fish's whereabouts today.
