Far Cry 6 Leaks Surface On Hong Kong PSN

Ubisoft doesn’t have the tightest ship when it comes to leaks. The setting of pretty much every Assassin’s Creed game leaks years before the game actually comes out. Even Far Cry 5 was subject to some intense leaks before launch, and it seems like Far Cry 6 will be the same. A store listing for Ubisoft’s next installment in the series surfaced on Hong Kong’s PlayStation storefront. When translated, it tells us the game’s release date, setting, key art, and plot synopsis. Ubisoft’s upcoming showcase, Ubisoft Forward, will probably have the big reveal if the Far Cry 6 leaks are legitimate.

Originally discovered by Twitter user anjohn0422, people were quick to translate the leak into English. From the image alone we can confirm that Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad) will likely be the villain after teasing his fans about appearing in an upcoming project. There are also details telling us the game will be available for PS5 and Xbox Series X and current generation consoles. Anyone who purchases the title on the latter consoles will receive a free next-gen upgrade. The listing also shows a release date of February 18th, 2021.

More interestingly, many people are making comparisons between the young boy in the image and Vaas Montenegro. This is leading some to believe these Far Cry 6 leaks could point to the game being a prequel, but this is purely speculation. However, we do know that the game is set in the province of Yara. You will play as Dani Rojas, a local guerrilla fighter trying to liberate the region from the dictator Anton Castillo. Hopefully, we’ll learn more at Ubisoft’s digital showcase this Sunday.
