Fallout 4 Patch 1.8 brings mods to PS4!
It sure has been a long journey for Fallout 4 mods on the Playstation 4. After a long wait and various different responses from Sony, mods for the popular FPS RPG are finally making their way onto the Playstation 4 later this week.

PS4 Mods have had quite a turbulent history. Xbox One received mods for Fallout 4 earlier this year, with still no word from Bethesda on the status of PS4 mods. Eventually, Bethesda updated the community, saying that the decision of PS4 mods was still in the hands of Sony. Eventually however, it was announced that PS4 would not be getting Fallout 4 mods in the fashion Bethesda intended, because Sony would not accept Third Party Content being loaded onto their system.

Since that announcement, there has been a compromise to where Bethesda is now offering PS4 mods using only existing in-game assets. They announced this, along with Skyrim mods and 4k support on a blog post in October, telling us that Skyrim mods would come before Fallout 4. Since then, Skyrim has launched with PS4 mod support, and it is now Fallout 4's time for PS4 mods.

With this announcement, PS4 players of the insanely popular FPS RPG will finally be able to customize their game, unfortunately not to the extent that PC and Xbox One enjoy however. All we can hope is that Sony recognizes the success of PS4 Mods and changes their stance on the issue of third party assets. Until then, we will have to make do with what we have, which is better than nothing.
