Capcom may have already revealed a new Elder Dragon, but that’s not going to stop them from showing even more massive creatures from the world of Iceborne.
Continuing the festivities of Gamescom 2019, Capcom has released an extended trailer for Monster Hunter World: Iceborne. While this trailer features some of the same footage and ideas from the footage released yesterday, it also includes brand new information such as all-new monsters and weapons.
See the trailer attached below. For a full breakdown regarding all this added content, read on.
Among the foes featured in the video was the recently-revealed Elder Dragon, Velkhana, and the fan-favorite Brachydios. There was also a tease of a mysterious water-based creature at the end of the trailer. Here’s what Capcom had to say about the monsters.
Monster Hunter World: Iceborne will include a multitude of new monsters and subspecies for hunters to challenge, and today, two more have been confirmed to join the upcoming massive expansion’s lineup. The brute wyvern Brachydios is a returning fan-favorite known for its explosive slime attacks, while Namielle, a mysterious all-new Elder Dragon, unleashes powerful water-based attacks. More details about the new flagship monster Velkhana have also emerged. This Elder Dragon’s icy breath can cause frozen pillars to form on the battlefield, which hunters can use to create exciting opportunities for new hunting strategies.
Monsters aren’t the only new things coming to Iceborne. Capcom continues to introduce new quality-of-life improvements, this time with a feature called “Hunter Helper.” This is meant to incentivize high-ranking players to assist newer players, creating a smoother experience for new hunters and a more accessible community as well. Here’s the company’s full info on it.
Another gameplay feature new to the series and on offer for all players is Hunter Helper, which focuses on Low Rank and High Rank player assistance by creating a further incentive for the community to help fellow hunters. Helpful players will get rewarded with exclusive in-game Pendants and Trophies for assisting other hunters in ranks below their own.
Last but not least, Capcom is also distributing a free Guardian Armor set to all Monster Hunter owners on September 4. This armor features some hefty defense buffs, making it ideal for players just jumping in for Iceborne.
Monster Hunter World: Iceborne will release on September 6 for PS4 and Xbox One, with a PC release to follow in January 2020. For those looking to purchase both the expansion and the base game together, Capcom is offering a “Master Edition” bundle that will be available on the same day.
