Japanese arcade goers will need to sharpen their skills (and their fins) to get ready for the aquatic knight, Empoleon. This Pokemon looks ready to slice through anyone that gets in its way, the only thing steelier than its typing, is that look in its eyes.
Empoleon attacks in a whirlwind of energised fins, and morphs the battlefield with icy stomps and powerful beams. The latter attacks appearing to leave frozen trails and patches which may affect traction when travelled over. One moment Empoleon is moving at speeds one wouldn’t typically expect a Pokemon of its…build…to move at, the next it’s waving at the crowd. No king should ever neglect their subjects.
Pokken Tournament has been praised for the visual spectaculars that are the Burst Attacks and Empoleon‘s does not disappoint. What looks like an underwater whirlpool version of Greninja’s final smash, this water starter also knows how to leave an impression, making a welcome addition to the collection. Maybe that’s just the Battle Bond those 2 Pokemon share?
Empoleon is now the 4th arcade exclusive character, following Darkrai, Scizor and Croagunk. There is currently no word on whether Empoleon, or any of the other additional characters, will be coming to the Wii U version of the game.
