Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) is in the final negotiations to join Marvel’s upcoming series Secret Invasion as reported by Variety.
The show is based on the comics of the same name that was a major event for that side of Marvel. The shape-shifting aliens Skrulls have been coming to Earth for years, and things got tense between humans and the invaders. Plenty of reveals came to be of characters turning out not to be who readers thought they were, which will be possible for viewers when the show hits Disney Plus.
The small screen adaption will follow Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and his Skrull friend Talos (Ben Mendelsohn) to face the infiltration with Kingsley Ben-Adir (Peaky Blinders) as the central villain.
Jackson has had an important role across the MCU, first appearing in an after-credits scene of Iron Man. Mendelsohn made his debut with Captain Marvel, which introduced the alien race into this universe. The only other time we have seen one outside of Brie Larson’s standalone movie was in the finale of WandaVision, where a Skrull Agent (Lori Livingston) meets with Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris).
The show will be written and produced by Kyle Bradstreet (Mr. Robot).
Outside of the Game of Thrones star in talks of starring in the upcoming Disney Plus series, Olivia Colman (The Favourite) is also negotiating to join the star-studded cast.
