Elden Ring Gets a Brand New Story Trailer

Elden Ring got a shiny new story trailer during The Game Awards 2021. The trailer is full of lore created by game director Hidetaka Miyazaki and author George R. R. Martin. Excited fans will be pleased that the action RPG’s release date is still set for February 25th. Elden Ring will arrive on PC (Steam), Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 and 5.

The new Elden Ring story trailer unearths some new lore. It says the demigods began to fall after the rune of death was stolen. Soon, a war known as “The Shattering” erupted and darkness descended upon the land. The Elden Ring itself was broken. However, it is not known who did it or what their motivations were. Godwyn the Golden was the first demigod to fall. In the end, General Radahn (the Conqueror of the Stars) and Malenia the Severed (the Blade of Miquella) were two of the strongest and last to remain standing. However, when they sparred there was no victor left standing. All that remained in the wake of war was a badly fractured world.

As you can see from the Elden Ring story trailer and previous media, the game is in the vein of previous FromSoftware titles. Players will take on the role of a Tarnished, to rise and obtain the power of the Elden Ring. In a world torn apart by the ravages of war, your quest is to ascend to become an Elden Lord.
