Electronic Arts have announced that they are opening a new studio in Vancouver, Canada known as Full Circle. This new studio will lead the new Skate project that was announced at EA Play 2020. Full Circle will be lead by Darren McCulloh, the former head of Xbox Live at Microsoft.

Alongside this announcement, EA has confirmed that Skate veterans Cuz Parry and Deran Chung will move over to Full Circle to lead the project. Both developers appeared in the announcement video last year.

In a press release, Studio Head Darren McCulloh is looking forward to the resurgence of the skateboarding classic.

The fans wished Skate back into existence and we want them involved in the process from development to game launch and beyond. We want them to feel like they are a part of Full Circle. We’re all about having fun and making great games that people want to play with their friends. And, we’re looking for more developers to help us build compelling worlds for players to explore.

Full Circle is now undertaking a large hiring spree, including positions in key roles such as gameplay mechanics. Based on this, we can guess the return of Skate is still a long way off.

No official name has been given to this new title, Skate 4 or a reboot are the likely options.
