E3 2019: Final Fantasy VIII Gets a Long Overdue Remaster

The day has finally arrived, Final Fantasy VIII gets a long overdue remaster! Releasing later this year, fans of the follow-up to the legendary Final Fantasy VII will get a revisit worthy of the current. Take a look at the official launch trailer released during E3 2019!

Final Fantasy VIII: Remastered

It’s been a long 20+ years for Final Fantasy VIII, with Square Enix mostly ignoring the title since its original launch in 1999 despite high demand from fans. While rumors leaked that Square was looking to announce it at E3, these types of rumors seem to surround the title every E3 since the announcement of the Final Fantasy VII: Remake in 2015. Thus, it almost seemed unreal when Square Enix included Final Fantasy VIII: Remastered in its conference with a stunning trailer.

Here’s what we saw at E3 2019 in the official trailer:

Looks like that source code isn’t too far gone after all! Final Fantasy VIII: Remastered will release on Steam, Switch, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 at an unspecified date within 2019.
