The fifth anniversary of Mad Max: Fury Road is today, which will get a slight crossover into Cyberpunk 2077 to celebrate. To honor the return to the post-apocalyptic world George Miller created, the studio announced players will have a muscle car called The Reaver.
“‘Reaver’ – custom-built Wraith gang vehicle based on Quadra Type-66 car,” reads the company’s tweet. “With its near 1000 horsepower, you will ride eternal, shiny and chrome. Happy 5th Anniversary #MadMaxFuryRoad.”

The car is a nod to Max’s V8 Interceptor, or best known as the Pursuit Special. To blend the worlds of Mad Max and Cyberpunk 2077, it has the vibrant colors to deliver that sci-fi punk vibe while maintaining the apocalyptic aesthetic.
Mad Max: Fury Road saw the replacement of Mel Gibson with Tom Hardy. The 2015 sequel was the first film in the franchise since 1985’s Beyond Thunderdome. Miller returned to the R rating and delivered a modern take on his creation that would rack up $374 million off of a $150 million budget. It got positive reviews from both critics and audiences, with the former having 97 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and the latter being slightly behind at 85 percent.
Cyberpunk has had a wild ride with delays, but it is arriving this September. Next month CD Projekt Red will host a broadcasted showcase called Night City Wire, which will give fans a new look at its upcoming RPG featuring John Wick himself, Keanu Reeves, as the rebellious rocker Johnny Silverhand.
This September 17 you can ride like in Mad Max-style in Cyberpunk 2077 on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Google Stadia.
