Limited Run Games has announced the physical DOOM Classics Collection for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4. Pre-orders are opening on Friday, April 2nd, and will end on May 2nd.
The $40 standard edition features a full-color manual and reversible cover art. Which cover art is facing out when you receive it is randomized at the factory. The collection is region-free on both the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.
The DOOM Classics Collection standard edition
The DOOM Classics Collection physical version contains DOOM, DOOM II, and DOOM 3. All three games have already previously been released separately for digital download on both the Switch and PS4 online shops, among other platforms.
The Limited Run Games online store says that Best Buy may be getting a small number of copies of the physical collection with alternate cover art for both platforms. However, it warns that waiting to get it from Best Buy is risky, as the retailer has not finalized its order yet.
The DOOM Classics Collection Special Edition has extra goodies.
The DOOM Classics Collection Special Edition (Switch or PS4) adds a bunch of extra goodies, which doubles the price to $80. In addition to the reversible cover art and full-color manual, it includes six additional items:

- Official SteelBook
- 8GB DOOM Shareware Disk USB (USB drive will be empty)
- Marine helmet PVC keychain
- Set of three 9″ x 6″ art prints
- Reprint Of The Original 1996 16-Page DOOM Comic originally sold in the id Anthology box set
The DOOM Classics Collection Collector’s Edition
As you can see in this image, Limited Run Games also has a collector’s edition (Switch or PS4) of the DOOM Classics Collection. As you’d probably expect, this one adds even more stuff and ups the price to $130. The package includes everything in the special edition, plus a detailed shadow box with LED lights and sound. When activated, it plays the iconic music from the first mission (E1M1) of the original game.
