After lavishing the PC gaming community in September of 2017, cult darling Doki Doki Literature Club! is coming to modern consoles. The newly dubbed Doki Doki Literature Club! Plus was announced on Twitter by game creator Dan Salvato, with a June 30th release date.

As described by the thread provided, the new game will feature a variety of additional content. Most prominently, extra content in the form of “Side Stories” was detailed, where players can experience stories among the main cast on “how they became close friends.” Other details include HD visuals, new music tracks (with built-in music player), and a picture gallery.

Premium Physical Editions of the title are currently available to pre-order on the Serenity Forge website for $29.99. Xbox users, however, will have to settle for digital, as physical editions are not currently available. While a cost was not detailed in either the Twitter thread or the official site blog, the Serenity Forge website lists Steam digital copies at $14.99, hinting at the base cost of the game on release.
The original game managed to rise from relative obscurity to mainstream prominence quite quickly. At the time of writing, the game has an impressive 150,000+ reviews on Steam since its release, with an Overwhelmingly Positive rating.
