Since Disney announced that EA would be allowed to make Star Wars games exclusively, things have not been looking well for Star Wars' video game track record. The 2015 reboot of the Battlefront franchise was met with lukewarm reviews, while its sequel become infamous for its use of microtransactions that would give players an unfair advantage. Despite the public backlash making its way to mainstream news sites, CEO Bob Igor stated in an earnings call that Disney still maintains a good relationship with Electronic Arts.

However, things might be changing with Star Wars' gaming division, if a recent sighting by PC Games is any indication. According to the various job postings, Disney is currently looking for a producer, assistant producer, and different levels of brand marketing and art coordinators/directors. One of these job descriptions specifically requires “experience and knowledge of best practices in the game industry”, as well as having a “passion for video games” and will need to “maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the gaming and digital industry”.

You can see the full job listings here. While none of this outright confirms that EA will lose the Star Wars licence, it does paint a picture where Disney could be making their own Star Wars games. All of this is up for speculation.

The latest Star Wars game by EA, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, is in development and currently scheduled for release sometime this year.
