After its initial announcement at The Game Awards last year, Disco Elysium – The Final Cut will release on March 30. This will mark the first time the game has been available on console, as it was previously a PC exclusive experience. Those who already own the game will be able to upgrade to The Final Cut for free.
The news broke at the end of PlayStation’s recent slew of indie announcements. Sony confirmed the game will be available on both PS4 and PS5, the latter of which will support 4K/60 FPS. There was also a post on the PlayStation blog, which goes into more detail on the upcoming title.
A Google Stadia version will also release on the same date. As for Xbox and Switch users, whilst the game is coming to those platforms, there is currently no set launch window.
The biggest difference between the original and the new upgrade, is voice acting. For the first time, each character is fully voiced, enhancing their individual personalities. That’s not to mention new animations, locations and quests that were all absent in the original edition. Moreover, this seems to be the most definitive way to now play ZA/UM’s indie hit.
